SLIDING TILT WINDOWS
Sliding tilt windows have a lot of similarities to what you may find in hung windows. Commonly, the window features a frame consisting of two panes that slide up and down or side to side, depending on where the track is set. The movement of the pane when they are open causes the differentiation between this window and the typical hung window. In a single sliding tilt window, one of the window panes will move inward. In a double sliding tilt window, both panes will move inward.
The design of the sliding tilt window makes them a popular choice for a few reasons. Firstly, because entire panes are in motion when they are opened, it allows for a significantly greater means of ventilation to occur. Their design also makes them easy to open and close. Because the windows tilt inward and can be installed to tilt away from the room, they do not take up a lot of space. And while single-tilt windows are somewhat difficult to clean because stationary window will have to be cleaned from the outside and the inside, double-tilt windows are simpler to clean because the inside and outside of both window panes can be easily accessed.
